New thing—CREATE HARMONY!!!!
This was something that I learned as a child and every now and again I meet someone who just has NO IDEA how to harmonize. I really thought it was a gift everyone had!
Then I realized, to create HARMONY in this world, you have to TEACH how to get there ! Not as easy as it sounds. Yet, since this IS the year of doing NEW things, I decided to give a 3 minute lesson to one my very best friends, on the art of singing harmony. I had him pick one of his favorite songs, and I would do my best to show him….. well, at least how to stick to his own note. I sang harmony and was just grateful if he could stay on the melody. Sometimes before you can graduate to harmony, you have to be pretty confident you can sing the melody. So, I gave it my all as a teacher, and whether or not the lesson sticks with him, I know these 3 chords are stuck in MY head for many years to come…..As for YOUR new thing today? well, notice songs today that have that awesome sound of harmony, and try to sing along…….hopefully it will sound better than…..this…
Well, this video was quite an enigma! I watched it carefully from beginning to end, all the
while thinking, “I wonder what those two people are doing?” From time to time, I even wondered out loud, “Maybe she’s teaching him to sing harmony.” But, then I caught myself, and realized
I’d made a completely ridiculous observation–because, obviously, there was no sign of
anything even remotely close to that going on at all!
Don’t worry, though–I’ll keep watching, and trying to figure out what’s really happening in
your little effort. Meanwhile–thanks for the brain-teaser!

This was such a crack-up! If you’re going to teach someone harmony, you have to make sure they’re not tone-deaf first…and I think your friend is. But at least he’s got all that fabulous hair
Try something new: sing ON KEY!!!! (helpful hint: don’t try harmony until you get the melody first)
