NEW THING-Find out where God lives in an airport….

Here is the deal, when I am traveling I have to get a little creative doing NEW things, and I never know when an NEW THING idea will pop up out of nowhere. I am in Dallas Texas shooting an informercial right now, and when I arrived yesterday I kissed the ground when I landed. The flight was so bumpy I never thought I would even get the CHANCE to mess with Texas :) Keeping in the grateful spirit when I landed, a simple thank-you was not enough….I had to find God and personally thank her for getting me back on the ground safe. BUT—Where does God live in the airport? Click play and you will see…..

oh yeah, I found out what Quibla meant by the way. It’s the direction muslums need to pray in. There is a reason for that but it’s not my new thing today to explain the Mecca, and the muslums prayer life. However, I did find in my research that there is an actual app for the i-phone that tells you where the Quibla is at all times. There is even a GPS that will help you find it as well. Love it.

Hi Rachel…..of course you would guess I love the idea of an interfaith chapel anywhere, including airports.
This one, however, seemed rather barren. It would be quite easy to just have a few items symbolic of the major religions of the world. A menorah, a cross, a plaque with the name of Allah in arabic, a buddha, a statue of Shiva or Ganesha, Kwan Yin, etc. And a book of interfaith prayers for people to browse in.
And a prayer rug on the floor, especially for Muslims to use when they pray, facing Mecca and the Kaba’a (how I learned to spell it) which is the most sacred place in Mecca, where Muslims are supposed to go at least once in their life if they can on pilgrimage. My friend Ghazala has been three times and says its very moving and spiritually powerful for her.
let us know how your filming adventure goes!
Did you sing Amazing Grace during the bumpy flight?
    love and smiles Mom
