New thing-Joshua Tree
Well, I never had any idea about what a Joshua Tree was before my birthday. My sister booked a few days for my birthday in a place called Joshua Tree. This was a new thing for me to actually see what a Joshua Tree was all about and to take a hike in the actual “Joshua Tree Park” itself. I am so grateful that I got a chance to visit one of the most serene and beautiful places I have ever been to with some of my very best friends. I hope you can get a chance to experience it as well!. Here is just a glimpse of the Joshua Tree experience……

No, THIS is my favorite now. Love the music, love the editing, and sorry I missed it! I want to be a million year joshua tree!

I see, from my reading, that the Joshua tree itself has something to do with the Old Testament
prophet Joshua stretching up his hands to heaven–or, pointing the Jews he was leading toward
the Promised Land. Joshua trees were so named, back in the mid-1800s, because their shape suggested all of that to whomever named them.
Then, too, there is a linguistic connection, in Hebrew, between the name of Joshua and the Name that is above all other names.
And then, too, some people think that in the OT, trees–especially the one Joshua hung the
king of Ai on–prefigure the cross He died on. So, there’s another resonance the Joshua
Tree has.
So then, of course, with all that in mind, there’s Bono.
And his lyric symbolism running all through U2′s album THE JOSHUA TREE–symbolism which appears
to touch on all I’ve just alluded to.
So, maybe JTNP really was the perfect place for you to spend your birthday.
“Clear transformation,” and all that.
With convivial seriousness,
PM
